Monet’s Table: The Cooking Journals of Claude Monet  by Claire Joyes

Written by the wife of Madame Monet’s great grandson, Claire Joyes brings an exciting and evocative collection of recipes straight from the journals of Claude Monet. Sumptuously illustrated with the artist’s own paintings, one can now indulge in delicious meals that were once served to the great painter’s family, friends and fellow artists. First published in 1989, this vintage book provides a unique (and tasty) insight into life during the turn-of-the-century through food and paint; it’s worth buying for the artworks alone.
