Essay
The revered Australian sculptor, Bronwyn Oliver created complex and highly intricate works of art. Her metal sculptures are her most prized and while she created them for exhibitions, she was also commissioned to create sculptures for both private and public collections.
Passionate and committed to her practice, Bronwyn Oliver produced masterpieces that are held tightly by private collectors and appear rarely on the open market. Comparable works are held in the collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Victoria and the National Gallery of Australia.
The present work, ‘Slip’ was selected to feature in ‘The Sculpture of Bronwyn Oliver,’ at the TarraWarra Museum of Art from November 2016 to February 2017.
